Tree-Trench-System

The partnership between Landscape architecture and stormater drainage engineering, bring the necessary solutions to plan and design landscapes which integrate sustainable surface water drainage and reduce the risk of flooding, whilst making best use of available land.

The tree-trench system consists of incorporating within the tree pit retention and a water storage system within an infiltration trench.

In addition of storm water drainage from impermeable areas, these elements can be easily integrated within the streetscapes taking into consideration that stored runoff could be used for the irrigation of the tree when needed with also an additional effect on urban cooling.

We plan these innovative stormwater management systems. Appropriate assessment approaches have been developed by our office. Our software STORM has simulation blocks for the design and the detection of tree-trench.
